On a peaceful light trade wind day, the Plantation Course can be bearable for the average golfer playing from the regulation tees, or for better golfers the back tees. But when mother nature shows up with strong gusts of wind from various directions, and intermittent rains, watch out! She becomes an evil monster ready to devour you!
The Hyundai Tournament of Champions in a couple of weeks, this is what the pros and caddies will be studying. "Good luck if the winds come from all angles full blast! hahaha."
The course is 7,411 yards playing at par 73 so it is plenty long.

There was one year Rory Sabatini was in town, and the course was slow, so he put on a driving exhibition from the championship tees. All the guest services staff and a few onlookers was watching him nail his drives over 300 yards down the first fairway. And the sound of the ball sizzling through the air! When I hit a drive there's this sound, (pack)... not shhhhhhhfssssssst! but pack!
My lowest score ever from the regular tees was an 87, I felt like a champion. And that day was windless. So if the winds were up, I'd probably need mental therapy. The Plantation House Restaurant located in the clubhouse is a pretty good place for breakfast, lunch and dinners too.
